I can't tell you how much fun I am having coming up with Holiday party earring designs, for Holiday parties that I will not be going to. I am just not invited to parties, even though I love a good Holiday party. Now that I'm out of the corporate world, and working from my home studio, I don't get the same invitations to Office Parties and vendor parties like the old days when I was a corporate Interior Designer. So instead, I'm imagining the kind of earrings that I, or my former colleagues, would want to wear. For me, it's as much fun as holiday baking and a lot less fattening. unexpected love

sometimes we fall unexpectedly in love. For jewelry designers this love is often with a new material. I recently fell head over heels for some base metal chain with silver, gold or gunmetal finishes. This chain has small leaves attached, so that it looks like a vine. I have made 4 pairs of earrings and will probably make more. This vine/chain is really out of character for me. Although somewhat eclectic, material wise, I still think of myself as a modernist. This chain is definitely not modernist. On further reflection, I can only assume that it fills the void from my current inability to participate in my other ardent pastime of gardening. Since my auto accident in July, gardening has been too difficult to undertake. This must be the void filled by my newest heart throb : chain with leaves.
